It's not always the size that counts, but the shape. When choosing a helmet, the shape of your head is as important as the size of the helmet. I'd previously bought a round shaped Bern Macon Hard Hat size XXXL (!) that didn't fit. While the Giro G9, with it's oval shape fit my head perfectly (even though I bought the XL, the L could have fit (without much room for adjustment). Great, light, helmet. The only thing I would of changed is a glossy finish instead of matte.
